GLS offers Europe-wide and international parcel logistics solutions with one of the largest own parcel networks in Europe and contractually secured alliances worldwide. Our core services include fast goods shipping, flexible returns solutions and end-to-end tracking for all shipments. With the largest own network in Europe, we guarantee reliable delivery capacities and efficient shipping processes - all from a single source. For out-of-home deliveries, we have over 71,000 parcel stores for collection and 81,000 parcel stores for returns internationally. In recent years, we have experienced rapid growth internationally, which has enabled us to further expand our capacities and constantly optimize our services to meet the increasing demands of our customers.

Product or service innovations

In the years 2023 to 2024, GLS further expanded its international presence and services. Here are some of the most important developments:

2023:

• Expansion into Serbia: In April 2023, GLS announced its entry into the Serbian market to strengthen its presence in Eastern Europe.

• New international hub in Italy: In June 2023, GLS opened a state-of-the-art international hub in Sordio, Italy. This strengthens international shipping capacities and supports Italian companies in global trade.

• Acquisition of ProntoPacco: Also in June 2023, GLS acquired 100% of ProntoPacco, one of Italy's largest parcel store networks with over 6,000 pick-up and drop-off points, to strengthen its last-mile strategy.

2024:

• Growth of OOH points internationally: in 2024, the number of OOH points (stores & parcel stations) increased from around 70,000 to over 100,000, making a significant contribution to the international growth story.

• Partnership with SF Express: In October 2024, GLS entered into a bilateral network partnership with SF Express to expand its global distribution capacities. This collaboration gives GLS customers access to SF's extensive network in China and the Pacific region.

• Investment in ACS in Greece: Also in October 2024, GLS acquired a 20% stake in the leading Greek parcel service provider ACS, with the option to acquire the remaining shares within two years.

• Opening of a new hub in France: In September 2024, GLS opened a new national hub south of Paris, equipped with advanced sorting systems and sustainable technologies to increase capacity and efficiency.

• Partnership with Keba: In November 2024, GLS announced a strategic partnership with automation specialist Keba to expand its network of parcel stations in Europe over the coming years.
