GoGreen Plus is the next, revolutionary step in the development of sustainability services at DHL. GoGreen Plus is an Insetting-Service, which allows the sender to contribute towards greenhouse gas emission avoidance within the logistics network, he/she is using (other than commonly known Offsetting-options, which compensate for emissions with international climate protection projects). All the emissions, which are caused by the shipments of the sender, will be insetted with insetting-measures within the DHL network. An external auditor will verify the validity of all insetting-measure and exact amount of avoided emissions.
At the end of each year, DHL provides the GoGreen Plus customers with an insetting-certificate.

Distinction from the competition

To our knowledge, there is no other insetting-service offered by any of our third party logistics post & parcel providers. By using GoGreen Plus, the sender can contribute to the sustainable development of the supply chain he/she is using and avoid emissions right there, where they are created - which is not the case with Offsetting-services. Therefore, DHL allows senders to communicate their special commitment towards sustainability with a wide array of communcation and marketing tools, which GoGreen Plus users can use.

Product or service innovations

We are proud, that we managed to defince insetting-projects within our network, which were acknowledged to be additional by an external auditor and facilitate technological and infrastructure changes in our value chain, which otherwise would not have occured (e.g. importing hydratable vegetable oil (HVO) from abroad to replace diesel in the vehicles within our premises - because HVO usage is not allowed on public roads in Germany). Furthermore, we believe that we provide a significant real world experience to the whole industry, which is currently exploring which rules and standards to apply with insetting.
