CVP Everest

The CVP Everest is a high speed automated packaging solution for ecommerce operations. Using 3D scanning technology this super fast packaging machine will build, seal and label a shipping box around each unique order in just a matter of seconds – packing flexibility that offers over 40 million different box sizes.

Oversized boxes are the scourge of ecommerce fulfilment. A large variance in order profiles often leads to the use of oversized boxes, which creates enormous waste in the form of excess cardboard material, void fillers and the transport of ‘fresh air’. The environmental case for ending the common practice of shipping retail goods to consumers in grossly oversized boxes is unassailable.

This links to another challenge. Packing a tidal wave of orders over a seasonal peak has also been a challenge for ecommerce businesses. But now, wide-spread labour shortages combined with rising wages has made the problem far more acute. De-risking peak by investing in automation that boosts capacity and cuts costs is the obvious answer.

The CVP Everest tackles both of these challenges simultaneously – offering scale at peak and flexibility to cater for a wide variety of order profiles, with perfect sized boxes every time. The CVP Everest has a capacity to create up to 1100 right-sized packages per hour, making it the fastest proven auto-boxing technology on the market today. The fit-to-size packaging solution also reduces parcel volume by up to 50% by creating the smallest parcel necessary, thus saving on shipping costs as well. This means less packing material as the solution greatly reduces corrugate usage (up to 30%) and the need for void fill.

The CVP Everest can on average replace up to 20 manual packaging stations at a time, thus considerably reducing labour costs while increasing packaging process efficiencies.

The CVP Everest reduces box volume up to 50% by creating the smallest parcel needed. A fit-to-size box reduces corrugate spend and minimizes or eliminates void fill usage.

But how we stand out? That would be packaging speed and reliability. With 1,100 packages per hour, the CVP Everest is the fastest proven automated packaging solution on the the market. In may 2023 Sparck has enhanced the range capabilities of its CVP Everest ‘fit-to-size’ packaging system, enabling it to produce individually made ultra-slim boxes with a profile as low as 28mm – tailored packaging that fits through most standard European letterboxes.

In July 2023 we successfully completed the inhouse testing of the auto-infeed project. This auto infeed offers a seamless, automated link between the upstream warehouse and our automated packaging solutions. Unique in the ecommerce world.
