Shipping case and shipping packaging

We are a packaging manufacturer and for the optimisation of a packaging from our customer, a shipping/postal packaging should be developed that has improved handling and positive storage properties.

The packaging up to now was less satisfactory. It took a long time at the packing tables until the packers had fully assembled the packaging and the goods were packed. The storage properties of the previous packaging were poor.

When developing the packaging, it was important to take all of the customer’s wishes into account so that the shipping case from corrugated cardboard represents a sophisticated solution for everyone involved, from the customer to the packer to the end customer.

The solution, a new packaging with eight adhesive points, which makes the shipping case significantly easier to handle. Thanks to the innovative design, the shipping cases are stackable and save space in logistics. Instead of industrial pallets, the shipping case can be delivered to the packers on Euro pallets with a higher quantity, a significant cost saving for our customer. The customer’s packers have further optimised the supply chain, and the simple handling saves an extremely effective amount of time when setting up the shipping case. The shipping case is much easier to set up than the previous packaging.

Equipped with two self-adhesive strips and a tear strip, the shipping case can be easily closed without additional adhesive tape. The end customer can easily open the shipping case without any tools using the integrated tear strip and close it again if required.

The new packaging has resulted in a practical and cost-saving solution. There are savings in logistics costs, improved storage capacity and time savings during setting up. The innovative design of the shipping case shows how packaging optimisation can have an efficient effect on the supply chain.
