Product or service innovations

In August 2024, Mondu secured an Electronic Money Institution (EMI) License from De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB) for Mondu Financial Services BV (Mondu BV), allowing it to operate across the EU.

This license enables Mondu to quickly expand into new markets and introduce additional innovative payment solutions. Concurrently, Mondu's processing volumes have increased significantly due to substantial client acquisitions, enhancing its market presence. New customers in the Netherlands, Germany, and the UK include BTN de Haas BV, Profipack, Autodoc, WirMachenDruck, and Kingspan.

Notebooksbilliger.de, a leading German online electronics retailer, is known for its wide range of products, competitive prices, and excellent customer service. Founded in 2002, it has become a trusted name in the DACH region's electronics market, serving both consumers and a growing B2B segment.

In the rapidly expanding e-commerce market, the B2B electronics sector presents significant opportunities, surpassing the B2C segment in size and growth. In Germany, the B2B e-commerce market is valued at 300 billion euros. For Notebooksbilliger.de (NBB), expanding into this market is a strategic priority. However, cumbersome payment processes hindered their growth in the B2B sector, limiting their ability to serve a large number of business customers efficiently.

Recognizing the need for a scalable payment solution, NBB partnered with Mondu instead of developing an in-house system. This partnership allowed them to implement a flexible, scalable payment process that could adapt to different markets without the complexities of internal development.

Mondu's invoice payment solution enabled NBB to offer net terms to all B2B clients, enhancing their ability to serve public entities and SMBs effectively. The solution led to a +93% approval rate, allowing NBB to expand its customer base safely. Additionally, NBB saw a 30% increase in average order value, with a 46% surge for transactions between €1,000 and €3,000, highlighting the success of Mondu’s solution in boosting higher-value purchases.
