The shop system ECS 2.0 is the quick and easy e-commerce solution for medium-sized bookstores offered by Zeitfracht Medien GmbH. This cloud-based platform provides an ideal software-as-a-service solution for booksellers, enabling a professional online presence in a few simple steps. All content is maintained via an intuitive modular user interface based on headless technology.

Retailers can customize their online shop according to the individual needs and preferences – even without any technical knowledge. An in-house editorial team regularly provides high-quality content so booksellers can enhance their online shop anytime. The shop system provides over 1.5 million products and allows an individual management of the product catalog. Around 1,000 bookstores are currently using ECS 2.0 successfully, with a benefit of its fully automated order processing.

E-Commerce Solutions 2.0 is a unique all-in-one solution that is specifically tailored for the book industry. A direct integration with the Zeitfracht Medien GmbH, one of the largest German book distributors, leads to multiple advantages, which can be found in the product range as well as in the fast order processing. The shop can not only be set up within 48 hours, but also offers fast distribution of the products. This is achievable by direct dispatch via the affiliated logistics center, where more than 500,000 items are stored. An own warehouse is therefore no longer necessary. The in-house developed management tool allows an easy and intuitive customization: from item entry to own categories to dedicated recommendation lists, which can be displayed prominently.

Product or service innovations

The shop system is optimized for maximum performance, scalability as well as security and is designed for cloud-based operation. The headless technology enables a seamless display on all end devices, including e-book readers, according to the corporate identity – even an individual app can be realized. It is also possible to connect with external merchandise management systems without any problems.

The omnichannel solution connects online with in-store: for example, a shop shows the stock of a bookstore on site and offers an immediate incentive to visit a store.

Due to the direct connection to one of the most modern logistics centers in Europe, bookstores have access to numerous express shipping options: whether directly to an end customer, to pre-defined pick-up points or via Click & Collect within one day to retail shop.

It is very beneficial to be able to easily upload your own individual graphics, images and logos to the database provided and thereby create a library that can be used consistently throughout your CI. The latest search engine-relevant content can be displayed just as easily as unique sales-promoting texts, thanks to the quick creation of text banners.

Finally, the display on mobile as well as on desktop can be directly reviewed while entering the data, ensuring that there are never any surprises during editing.
