We solve problems from the warehouse, for the warehouse. As time is what matters most to our customers, central to our thinking is to find time-saving efficiencies, and then utilizing the latest technology, we find ways to develop task-orientated solutions to speed up processes and reduce, or even eliminate errors.

Integrating directly with Couriers to benefit from accurate parcel booking and delivery is costly and time-consuming. Because we understand this, we have built a platform that our customers integrate with once and access over 50 couriers – giving them automation and choice and control, and the ability to swap and change when they need to. We're adding around 15 new couriers every six months.

Distinction from the competition

Because using technology to improve business processes is in our DNA for our Courier platform we have also developed: Intelligent tracking to provide our clients' end customers visibility over any parcel at any time and reduce their time-consuming WISMOs (where is my order) inquiries. Our customers can communicate with their customers in their own brand. We have set up smart shipping rules around parcel weight, value, postcode, and more parameters that will automatically select the preferred courier or automatically switch if there's a problem or allow our customer to manually switch to a preferred courier. This also alleviates the time spent training staff on how to select the right courier for a parcel depending on the parcel type and country. We have also streamlined digital customs information to save valuable time

Product or service innovations

When the customs rules and paperwork requirements changed the development team at Despatch Cloud could see that automating and streamlining these requirements was something that our customers would value. Now streamlined and standard on the courier platform our customers can send the required customs data digitally. Not only does it save time, it also makes their customs data much more accurate and prevents delays in the end customer receiving their order.

The automated system means information is provided on the packed contents automatically. In doing so, the information on file for the contents of a package is immediately uploaded with the exact figures on their system. By doing this, their data will always be in the correct format, meaning there will be no delays in getting the item/s through customs.

Our customers no longer have to fill in time-consuming customs declaration forms and can enjoy peace of mind that their parcels and the necessary forms are correct.

Customer case study

Yorkshire Trading Company In modern eCommerce, shipping is often right at the top of a customer’s priorities when selecting a company. YTC now offers next-day despatch as well as low-cost deliveries to all online customers. An eCommerce business’ reputation is key to attracting new buyers, so maintaining an excellent post-purchase experience is vital. When asked about the customer’s favorite features, Dan spoke about the transparent shipping service offered by Despatch Cloud:

“Our customers love the tracking feature. It’s been really beneficial to be able to update them on every step of their parcel’s journey. We hardly receive any WISMO calls anymore as the customer knows when the order is being processed, picked, despatched, on the way with the courier and when it has been delivered”.

YTC aren’t exactly the normal Despatch Cloud customer. With a range of 30 high street stores, the complexities of operating in an online, and brick and mortar store were clear. Dan was pleasantly surprised at how Despatch Cloud could help, stating “it’s hard enough to run an online store, but when you have major high street stores also, it gets really tough. As well as deliveries we wanted to run a click and collect service in our stores. I wasn’t sure if the technology with Despatch Cloud could do this, but the team was incredible in accommodating our needs. The support for custom plugins was a real game changer and allowed us the power to build our own plugins to suit our system. Our click and collect system is seamless, and this wouldn’t have been possible without this plugin system. It has provided us with the functionality to expand and give our customers an extra delivery option which they love”.
